The Teen Clinic is a joint collaboration between Redwood Coast Medical Services (RCMS), Mendocino County Youth Project (MCYP) and Point Arena High School. At the Teen Clinic, we believe students have a right to make conscious health choices about their physical and mental health. The Teen Clinic is located across the street from the high school, in front of South Coast High School.
The Teen Clinic provides confidential access to medical services including pregnancy prevention and counseling, STD testing, pregnancy testing, sports physicals and check ups. A nurse practitioner is available at the clinic the first and last Friday of each month. Crisis counseling is provided by MCYP Youth Worker, who can advise and help with home issues, relationship issues, access to mental health care, and access to social services.
Other groups/services at the Teen Clinic include: Ala-Anon, AlaTeen, Teen Moms. Call for more information about any of these groups and bring us your ideas for new activities and support groups!
The Teen Clinic is open 12 to 1:30 pm on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri and 11 to 1 pm on Wed. (5th, 6th, and lunch). Students must sign out at the office and receive a pass from them to visit the clinic. If for any reason this is not possible, students may visit the MCYP Youth Worker on campus in the guidance/counseling center to make an appointment.
