Arena Tech Center ~ Motivating Media Literacy
Part of the Point Arena School District
Point Arena is located 140 miles north of San Francisco on the beautiful coastline of southern Mendocino County. Gray whales migrate along the shore, and the majestic coastal ridge range is covered with redwood and Douglas Fir. Local industry includes fishing, dairy and beef farming, tourism and agriculture.
Point Arena and adjacent communities are home to many artists, poets and musicians, and offer high quality art shows, concerts and community activities that draw locals and a regular stream of visitors from the Bay Area and beyond.
We all have something to teach each other, and at the ATC we are a creative hub for the young and old. Many of the artists and techies in our ATC community are inspiring and guiding the youth to reach higher and wider, and of course, the youth are inspiring and reminding the adults how to stay open to creativity, communication and flow.
The first step to grassroots media literacy is willingness to learn and soon you’ll be making your own podcast, creating music, animating your poetry, building a website, making a video — changing our world.
We also help you design fliers and offer strategic media assistance for small businesses, non-profits and artists in our community.
