Welcome Back!!!
I hope you are all enjoying time with your children over the summer vacation. We are working very hard to get Arena Elementary cleaned, organized and ready for the students to return on Wednesday, August 23rd.
Your child/children are in store for many meaningful and exciting learning adventures! For them, let us make the goal to have a successful 2023-24 school year by working together as a team to ensure a quality educational experience. Without you, we will not reach our full potential as a school. We value you and your opinions. We look to you as a partner in your child’s education. We are excited to start this new school year together. Here is how you can support and guide your child’s education:
✏️Make sure students arrive on time and attend on a daily basis.
✏️Have your student complete all homework assignments in a timely manner.
✏️Have your student read daily to improve literacy skills.
✏️Ask about school experiences.
✏️Encourage success!!!
Here at Arena, our teachers have high expectations and want to foster and encourage the excitement of learning new ideas and concepts. Make sure your children are prepared for the return to school by checking with your child’s doctor to be sure immunizations are up to date, particularly Kindergarten, 7th graders and new students to the district. Additionally, this is a good time to schedule annual sports physical exams, which are required for participation in school sponsored sporting events.
Lastly, before the school year begins, start adjusting your child’s bedtime so that they get enough sleep, are rested, and functional in the morning. Getting plenty of sleep is important for their learning. When children are exhausted they have extreme difficulty processing information. Make sure your child has a backpack and age appropriate school supplies on the first day of school. Most importantly, please write your child’ name on all of their jackets, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc.
Along with this Welcome Back letter, you will find many important school documents included in the Back-to-School packet which need to be read, personal information to be completed and signed.
I hope your child/children are as eager to return to the Arena Elementary learning community as we are looking forward to seeing all of their smiling faces. Until then, stay safe and healthy. Enjoy every second together.

Espero que todos estén disfrutando del tiempo con sus hijos durante las vacaciones de verano. Estamos trabajando muy duro para limpiar, organizar y preparar la Escuela Primaria Arena para que los estudiantes regresen el miércoles 23 de agosto.
¡Su hijo / niños están preparados para muchas aventuras de aprendizaje significativas y emocionantes! Para ellos, hagamos el objetivo de tener un año escolar exitoso 2023-24 trabajando juntos como un equipo para garantizar una experiencia educativa de calidad. Sin ustedes, no alcanzaremos nuestro máximo potencial como escuela. Te valoramos a ti y a tus opiniones. Lo vemos como un socio en la educación de su hijo. Estamos emocionados de comenzar este nuevo año escolar juntos. Así es como puede apoyar y guiar la educación de su hijo:

Aquí en Arena, nuestros maestros tienen altas expectativas y quieren fomentar y alentar la emoción de aprender nuevas ideas y conceptos. Por último, antes de que comience el año escolar, comience a ajustar la hora de acostarse de su hijo para que duerma lo suficiente, descanse y funcione por la mañana. Dormir lo suficiente es importante para su aprendizaje. Cuando los niños están agotados tienen dificultades extremas para procesar la información. Asegúrese de que su hijo tenga una mochila y útiles escolares apropiados para su edad el primer día de clases. Lo más importante, escriba el nombre de su hijo en todas sus chaquetas, sudaderas, suéteres, etc.
Junto con esta carta de bienvenida, encontrará muchos documentos escolares importantes incluidos en el paquete de regreso a la escuela que deben leerse, la información personal debe completarse y firmarse.
