2025 Latino Student Retreat FAQs
Thank you for your interest in attending the 37th Annual Latino Student Retreat hosted by Mendocino College. Below are a few Frequently Asked Questions that will help provide additional information to you and your students. Thank you again for your support. We look forward to seeing you all on campus for the Latino Student Retreat on Friday, April 25th (2025).
What is the Latino Student Retreat and what does the event consist of? The Latino Student Retreat is a half-day conference that raises awareness of higher education opportunities. The event includes a keynote address, multiple workshops, a resource fair, and cultural activities that create a sense of belonging and validation for Hispanic/Latinx students.
When and Where is the Latino Student Retreat?
The Latino Student Retreat occurs on the Mendocino College Ukiah campus on Friday, April 25th. The event is scheduled to run from 8:30 am, starting with the event check-in, until about 1:30 pm when lunch & the Resource Fair end.
A breakdown of the schedule for the day of the event is below:
Program at a Glance:
8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. – Check-in
9:10 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. – Welcome address, guest speaker, & keynote speaker 10:10 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. – Break/travel time
10:20 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. – Workshop #1
11:10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. – Break/travel time
11:20 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Workshop #2
12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Lunch, Resource Fair, & Activities
The event concludes with lunch. There is no formal “Closing Ceremony”.
Who is the Latino Student Retreat for?
The Latino Student Retreat is geared towards Hispanic, Latina/o/e/x-identified high school students. We also want to welcome our bicultural and multicultural first-generation students of color.
Who needs to register for the event?
Anyone who is planning to attend the Latino Student Retreat needs to register. This includes students, staff members, and any chaperones accompanying your group.

Apart from the event registration, all participants are asked to complete/submit a Photo Release Form for any possible marketing uses, such as promoting future Latino Student Retreat events.
The Photo Release forms can be returned on the day of the event.
How much does it cost to register/attend the Retreat?
Registration/attendance is free for students and staff members/chaperones!
What is included in the Registration/Retreat Attendance?
The event t-shirt & lunch are included and free of charge to student participants.
When is the Registration due?
Event registration will close on Monday, March 31st. If you have any problems with registration, please contact us using the information at the bottom of the page.
What about parking on the day of the event?
Mendocino College offers free parking, thus, no parking permits are required. You may park anywhere in the parking lot.
When and where will check-in be on the day of the event?
On the day of the event, you may drop off your students near the flag poles on the Mendocino College Ukiah campus. This area is next to the main Student Services (1000) building, MacMillan Hall, and the (5000) Theater building. Check-in is scheduled to start around 8:30 am and will go on until 9:00 am.
